Results – Pune

On arrival at the starting gate, GIBSON KNOTT (A. S. Peter) was observed to have a bleeding injury in its mouth, subsequently the mare was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to have a small injury on her tongue. As such, the mare was certified fit to race. At the start, LICKETY SPLIT (A. Prakash, dr.4) jumped outwards onto ETOILE (App. Ramswarup, dr.5). At the start, MILA (App. A. Omkar, dr.8) jumped out brushing the gates thereby unbalancing its rider and causing him to lose his left stirrup momentarily which he regained after a few strides. Soon after the start, ETOILE (App. Ramswarup) shifted out and went across MILA (App. A. Omkar) who had to be steadied. App. Ramswarup has been cautioned. Soon after the start, ASHWA ALMATY (S. J. Sunil) shifted in and went across HIGHGROUND (App. S. Siddharth) causing the latter to be steadied due to the incident EXHALT (C. Umesh) racing on the haunches of HIGHGROUND had to check and drop back. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey S. J. Sunil has been fined Rs.2,000/-. Approaching the 1200 metres, HIGHGROUND (App S.Siddharth) leaned out due to which EXHALT (C. Umesh) racing on its haunches had to be checked. App S Siddharth has been cautioned. Passing the 300 metres, LICKETY SPLIT (A. Prakash) shifted out thereby carrying ASHWA ALMATY (S. J. Sunil) outwards causing the latter to be checked due to this incident MILA (App. A. Omkar) racing on the haunches of ASHWA ALMATY (S. J. Sunil) had to check and change course. Thereafter, in the final stages of the race LICKETY SPLIT shifted out and went across MILA and finished the race on the outer portion of the track. After the race, Jockey A. Prakash reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, in view of a similar behavior of the gelding in the past, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race. Passing the 300 metres, WE STILL BELIEVE (D. R. Shubham) shifted out at the same time JAGGER (T. S. Jodha) leaned in due to which EXHALT (C. Umesh) racing between them was tightened for room and had to be steadied. After the race, App. S. Siddharth (HIGHGROUND) reported loss of whip passing the 400 metres. This being the first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2026, no action has been initiated. After the race, the Sr. V. O. reported the following:- ASHWA ALMATY was trotted and found to be sound. On a request from Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait an endoscopy was performed on AGEISJUSTANUMBER and was found to have Guttural Pouch infection. The Equine Hospital reported the following:- GIBSON KNOT sustained a right eye injury (sore).
