On the arrival at the start, NORTHERN SINGER (Kishore Kadam) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified the filly fit to race. An objection was lodged by Jockey Dhanu S. Deora, the rider of ALAUDDIN KHILJI (Placed Second) against BELGRAVIA (S. Zervan, placed First). The reason being, at about 200 metres there was enough gap between PEZULA (Prashant P. Dhebe) along the rails and BELGRAVIA (S. Zervan) and when he tried to take the gap, BELGRAVIA came across him, took his ground and forced him to change course thus causing his horse to lose momentum, insipte of that his horse came back but couldn’t reach on time and this cost him a certain race. After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards upheld the objection and revised the order of placing as under:- ALAUDDIN KHILJI - FIRST; KNIGHT SUPERIOR - THIRD; BELGRAVIA - SECOND; PEZULA - FOURTH In the above connection, Jockey S. Zervan was asked to meet the Stewards for careless riding. Consideration of the matter was deferred. After the race, KNIGHT SUPERIOR was trotted and found to be sound.
