After the race, OLLY BOY and RESPECT were trotted and found to be sound.
Passing 300 metres, GLORIOUS ANGEL (App. Vishal N. Bunde) racing between SAWGRASS (A. Imran Khan) and CELESTIAL LIGHT (C. S. Jodha) was hampered for room and had to be checked and dropped back. An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of FRIVOLOUS and a report will be submitted shortly. After the race, GLORIOUS ANGEL was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. After the race, FRIVOLOUS was trotted and found to be sound. The colt was again examined in the stables in the morning on 29/07/2017 and found to have left eye injury, ulcer and opacity.
SET TO FLY (Altaf Sayyed) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start. Approaching 600 metres, SET TO FLY (Altaf Sayyed) shifted in thereby forcing CARBONARA (Prashant P. Dhebe) to be checked and change course. Jockey Altaf Sayyed has been cautioned. Approaching 400 metres, ARTISTIC (Amyn Merchant) drifted out thereby inconveniencing PUGNACIOUS (P. Trevor). Jockey Altaf Sayyed (SET TO FLY) reported the loss of whip passing the 400 metres. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-. After the race, Jockey Amyn Merchant (ARTISTIC) reported that his mount was inclined to hang out at the top of the straight. Trainer C. D. Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
