The Sr.V.O. reported that whilst approaching the starting gates, VICTOR IVANOV was observed to be coming sore, On examination, the gelding was confirmed to be sore from the right fore leg. As such VICTOR IVANOV was withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under the Starter’s Order. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (BY THE WAY, dr.8) has been fined Rs.2000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker and in the process hampered the running of SURPRISE GIFT (J.E.Pereira). Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar reported that his mount “BY THE WAY” started to drop out near about 600 metres and did not respond to his urgings and became uninterested in the race. Trainer Anil Kumar when questioned stated that he had no explanation to offer for the poor performance of his charge. The Trainer has opted to scope the horse. The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of the Trainer, BY THE WAY was scoped at the Equine Hospital after the race and reported to have EIPH Grade-III. Also, the gelding had a cut injury at the right hind coronet. BY THE WAY is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. After the race, XENIA was observed to have a cut injury at the right hock and AMAZING SMILE had a cut injury at the left hind pastern.
