Soon after the start, SALT (S.Sunil) shifted in and carried SNOW BLAZE (C.Rajendra) inwards, who in turn hampered the running of MOUNTAIN WIND (Suraj Narredu). Jockey S.Sunil has been fined Rs.1000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount. SNOW BLAZE (C.Rajendra) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt. After the race, SNOW BLAZE was observed to have bruise in the right nostril.

TITIAN (Malcolm Kharadi) lost 2 lengths at the start. At the start, DOVERS HILL (C,Rajendra, dr.9) shifted in and caused OCEAN EMPEROR (Suraj Narredu, dr.8) to shift in and at the same time STERLING SILVER (Akash Agarwal, dr.7) shifted out and made contact with OCEAN EMPEROR. Traveling some distance further, DOVERS HILL (C.Rajendra) cut across the field before the Red Marker and later hampered the running of MOUNTAIN LION (T.Atul). Jockey C.Rajendra has been fined Rs.5000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount. OCEAN EMPEROR (Suraj Narredu) lugged-in in the straight and in the process inconvenienced STARSEEKER (Y.S.Srinath) who was steadied. In the concluding stages of the race, STERLING SILVER (Akash Agarwal) shifted out and made contact with STARSEEKER (Y.S.Srinath). Jockey Akash Agarwal has been cautioned. SEA DIAMOND (J.Chinoy) was pulled up near 200 metres AS THE Jockey found his mount uncomfortable. Sr. VO reported that SEA DIAMOND who was pulled up near 200 metres examined on the Tracks as the Jockey reported that the horse was uncomfortable from the hind legs. The horse was given first aid treatment and removed to the Equine Hospital and was reported to be sore by left hind leg and observed to have swelling on the cannon of that leg. The mare has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. After the race, OCEAN EMPEROR was found to be sound. MOUNTAIN LION had lost its left fore plate.

The explanation of Jockey R.Rupesh (HIGHLAND CROWN) that his mount was not coming on to the bit and was sluggish to begin, was noted. Jockey Saddam Iqbal (MR GREEDY) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

At the request of Trainer Amjad Khan, MYSTIC TEMPLE was examined at 0720 hours on 28/07/2011 and was found to be sore by the left hind leg. As such, the mare was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn from the race on veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. After the race, STAR OF VENUS was found to have a gum injury. INCOGNITO had an abrasion on the left hind fetlock. SEA BUCANEER was found to be sound. ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “ARISTOCRATIC” The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer C.D.Katrak and Jockey Amyn Merchant in the above connection. Trainer C.D.Katrak stated that he had instructed Jockey Amyn Merchant to give the horse a chance in the early part, gradually improve and to ride out in the straight. He added that he had also told the Jockey that the horse has soundness problem and is a bleeder and therefore not to use the whip and not to give a very hard race. He said that this horse last won a race two years ago. Jockey Amyn Merchant confirmed the instructions and said that after coming into the straight he had ridden out the horses hands and heels. Trainer C.D.Katrak stated that even if the Jockey had used the whip, the horse would have still finished forth since the distance between the third and fourth horse was 3 lengths which the horse could not have covered up. Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer C.D.Katrak, he was fined Rs.5,000/- and Jockey Amyn Merchant was severely cautioned to be more vigorous in his efforts in the future.

At the request of Trainer Vijay Kasbekar, SABANERO was examined at 1020 hours on 27/07/2011 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn from the race on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. MATILDA (App.M.A.Roushan) was restless in the stall. Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race. Jockey P.S.Chouhan replaced Jockey Dashrath Singh who had a fall yesterday. Later, it was informed that Jockey P.S.Chouhan had a medical emergency in the family and therefore he would not be able to fulfill his riding engagement, hence a change of Rider was effected on AURARIA to Jockey A Sandesh. The Clerk of the Scales reported that Jockey Akash Agarwal (VOICES OF ANGELS) weighed out 3.5 kg over the published weight. An enquiry was held by the Stipendiary Stewards since there was no written permission sought by Trainer Narendra Lagad to carry an overweight. After enquiring, Jockey Akash Agarwal was fined Rs.3000/- for not confirming the weight at which he would ride VOICES OF ANGELS. The Jockey was permitted to ride as the Trainer was agreeable for his charge to carry an overweight of 3.5 kg. At the start, STAR LADY (R.Shelar) jumped out awkwardly and did not raise an effective gallop. Jockey Shrikant Kamble (WATCH OUT) reported loss of whip near 400 metres. MATILDA (App.M.A.Roushan) did not get a clear run in the straight. After the race, STAR LADY was found to be sound, having bruises on the right hind pastern.
