An Objection was lodged by Jockey Samuel Fargeat, rider of BU ATTIFEL (placed 2nd) against Jockey Akash Agarwal, rider of RAVE ON (placed 1st). The reason being that in the last 150 metres when his horse was moving well, RAVE ON had come on to him and bumped him whereby his mount was squeezed and also hesitated due to which he lost a certain race. The Stewards after viewing the video recording of the race, considering the jockeys explanations and in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards, decided to uphold the objection and to revise the Order of placing as under:

After being loaded, FOREST NATIVE (Satish Nayak) played up in the stall and both her fore legs got stuck over the partition. The filly was unloaded and examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified her unfit to race and hence she was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order.

At the start, DONT BE SILLY (Zameer Sayyed, dr.5) shifted in despite the Jockey’s effort, forcing ISHTAR (J.Pradeep, dr.4) to shift in and hamper the running of PREMIER PERCEPTION (Nirmal Jodha, dr.3) and then made contact with HERE COMES THE DON (H.G.Rathod, dr.2). Trainer D.J.Surti has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting to race. App.A.M.Tograllu (SPICA) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. After the race, STELLAR AFFAIR was observed to have an abrasion on the left hock.

Trainer D.J.Surti has been fined Rs.2000/- for declaring incorrect shoeing on his charge AMERICAN IDOL. The colt was declared with Aluminium, Left Hind High Heel whereas on examination it was found to have Aluminium, Left Fore High Heel. AMERICAN IDOL (Zameer Sayyed) was restless and did not allow the rider to mount for quite sometime. Since the colt had behaved in a similar manner in his last run, Trainer D.J.Surti has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and to show him in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting with him to race.

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, CAMEO was examined by the Club’s V.O. on 03/10/08 at 1100 hours and was found to have fever, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

After viewing the video recording of both the races and scrutinizing the betting sheets, the explanation tendered by Trainer C.D.Katrak was noted.
