Permission was granted to Trainer Mr. J S Pillay to substitute Jockey A Imran Khan to ride RICH CELEBRATION in place of Jockey J H Christopher, the declared rider. Jockey Arshad Alam, the rider of SPANIARD, was reprimanded for not maintaining a straight course, thereby, he shifted out inconveniencing SUSSEX DOWNS (Ryan Marshall), on his outside, in the final stages of the Race. KILIMANJARO (N Tauseef Ahmed) veered out after jumping out of the Starting Gates and lost few lengths. In view of its behaviour, Trainer Mr. J Babu Rao was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Jump Out on a Starting Gate Practice Day. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination and after due examination, the Club's Veterinary Officer reported that it was found to have sharp molars and fresh injuries in the mouth. Hence, Trainer Mr. J S Pillay was fined Rs.3,000/- for his negligence [first infringement].

Trainer Mr. C D Monnappa was fined Rs.10,000/- by the Stewards for his negligence in accepting his charge, COMMANDING HEIGHTS, to run in the above Race, when the horse was under veterinary treatment. Subsequently, it was permitted to be withdrawn. SOVETSKAYA (P Trevor) was slowly away and lost a few lengths at the start.
