Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding. An objection was lodged by Jockey S. Zervan, the rider of HOPEILICIOUS (Placed Fourth) against CHAPLIN (David Allan, Placed Second). The reason being, coming into the straight, near the one furlong marker, his horse HOPEILICIOUS was full of running and gaining momentum at which time CHAPLIN (David Allan) came from the outside and bumped his horse, cut across him badly and took his ground, due to which he had to completely stop riding and check his horse. Thereafter, his horse again ran on to place fourth and this cost him a certain 2nd/3rd place. After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgement, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection. Passing the 150 metres, HOPEILICIOUS (S. Zervan) shifted in under pressure and made contact with CELESTIAL LIGHT (P. Trevor) and ricocheted outwards, at the same time CHAPLIN (David Allan) shifted in, due to which they made contact. After the race, ABERLOUR was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. After the race, CHAPLIN, RINCON, REGAL SHOT and JACKPOT were trotted and found to be sound.
