At the start ZARAR (SG Prasad) stumbled on its own.
Trainer H.J.Antia and Jockey Sandeep Jadhav were questioned regarding the running and riding of SPEED BABY. The instructions to the jockey were to be in second or third position and to do his best. It was observed that the Jockey had not ridden out his mount in the straight but rather the horse was restrained by his left hand. Further, the Trainer had approached the Stipendiary Steward before the race that he has been receiving adverse information with regard to the riding of the Jockey. The matter was reported to the Stewards.
The Stewards interviewed Trainer H.J.Antia and Jockey Sandeep Jadhav and having heard them and having viewed the video of the race, held Jockey Sandeep Jadhav guilty of not allowing his mount SPEED BABY to run on its merits. Further, on going through his Mobile Phone records, it was found that he was in contact with a “warned off” person. Therefore, the Stewards of the Club have decided to suspend his Jockey’s license with immediate effect pending further enquiry. (The Stewards also directed the Stipendiary Stewards to try and finish the enquiry at the earliest).
After the race, MOUNTAIN WARRIOR and SPEED BABY were found to be sound.
