SHIVALIK STORM (A.Sandesh) was fractious and reluctant to be stalled. As such, the Starting Stall Certificate of the gelding has been revoked.
Jockey S.Shinde (HIMALAYAN QUEEN) reported the loss of his whip near 100 metres, the reason being that his whip got entangled with the knot in his rein.
Trainer C.D.Katrak and Jockey S.Shinde were questioned regarding the running and riding of HIMALAYAN QUEEN. The Instructions were to take a good jump, sit wherever possible as it was an educational run. In the preliminary questioning, the Trainer stated that he had informed the Jockey not to use the whip as the filly was soft and immature. The Trainer was satisfied with the ride of the Jockey in the race and was in fact critical of the Jockey for having used the whip. The Jockey confirmed the Instructions and stated that he was asked not to use the whip in excess. The Stipendiary Stewards will be enquiring further into the matter and will submit a report shortly.
After the race, SHIVALIK STORM, HIMALAYAN QUEEN and MELINDA were found to be sound.
