The Trainer stated that the mare used to cut herself on the inside of her hock and therefore he had raced her unshod this time. He had tried this as a last measure before retiring the mare. Also, Jockey A.Sandesh had suggested to try out Blinkers as the mare gives up when horses are around her and therefore he had used Blinkers this time. To another question, the Trainer stated he had given the mare a small chance. The explanation was noted.
After the race, ALEUTIAN ZONE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hock. MOUNTAIN LION was found to be sound.
