N R I FANTASY and MOUNTAIN GOLD were slow to begin.
Tr. Rutherford Alford when questioned regarding the inconsistence performance of his charge A WINK ANNDA SMILE stated that in its previous start he had instructed Jockey Antony Raj to take a good jump and position himself wherever possible. The gelding was placed in 2nd or 3rd position, came up with the run, was in with a chance up to the 150 metres and then faded out. On Jockey Antony Raj’s advise that the gelding may like to be ridden in a more settled way, he gave the instructions today to Jockey Md Azharuddin accordingly. This was the gelding’s maiden win as a seven years old, it came out and won in a blanket finish. His explanations were noted.
N R I FANTASY dropped out from about the 200 metres and finished the race detached from the field. The Veterinary Officer was requested to examine the mare and submit his report.
The Veterinary Officer reported that A WINK ANNDA SMILE returned without its right fore shoe.
An enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of ROYAL KING, trained by Mr. Shafiq Khan and ridden by Jockey M S Deora.
Tr. Javed Khan when questioned regarding the improved performance of his charge ADEYA as compared to its previous outing in Race No. 160 – THE AVEROFF CUP held on 6th March, 2026 stated that :-
a) The blinker was used first time on the filly in its last outing. b) In her last run the filly was running with a bigger field, was crowded for room and as such could not be settled in a well up position, therefore the filly ran a very poor race. c) In this race the filly was running in a shorter distance race with a small field of 6 runners. d) As she was carrying bottom weight, I asked the Jockey Vinay Jaiswal to take a good jump, go to the front and to do his best. The Jockey followed my instructions, went to the front unchallenged from other runners and the filly held on to win although I did not fancy her chances in this race.
His explanations were noted.
As Jockey V R Jagadeesh reported sick at the starting gates, was checked by the Medical Officer and declared medically unfit to ride, b g BRAVE MAJESTY was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter’s orders.

Tr. Vijay Singh and Jockey Suraj Narredu when questioned regarding the running and riding of LAGUNA SECA, the Trainer stated that his instructions were to take a good jump, settle in a mid bunch and give the filly every chance. However, due to there being no pace in the race, his charge was not able to find an advantageous position. Jockey Suraj Narredu corroborated the Trainer’s instructions. He further stated that he was inconvenienced at about the 600 metres due to a tightly packed field and when he made a final effort, the filly did not have much to offer in the final stages of the race. The Stipendiary Stewards while noting their explanations, advised the Trainer to get his charge examined by the Veterinary Officer. Post race endoscopy of LAGUNA SECA on 11th March, 2026 revealed that the filly suffered from EIPH Gr III. Tr. Vijay Singh was advised not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
Tr. Aashay Doctor when questioned regarding the improved performance of his charge POLKA DOT as compared to its previous outing in Race No. 127 – THE GREEN SARI HANDICAP run on 7th February, 2026 stated that :-
a) She ran after a break of about a month which helped her to run fresh. b) Change of jockey from R Vaibhav to P Trevor made a difference. c) The pace of the race was slow which helped her to dictate the terms from the front which might have suited her better.
His explanations were noted.
