Following the running of the race :- a) Mr. D M David the trainer of b g AVON CREEK, placed 4th by the Judge lodged an objection against Jockey Md. Islam, the rider of MISTLETOE placed 1st by the judge on the grounds of “I observed that on entering the straight my charge AVON CREEK met with severe interference due to the foul riding of Jockey Md. Islam, the rider of MISTLETOE placed 1st by the judge on the grounds of “passing the 600 metres Jockey Md. Islam rode his mount violently on to AVON CREEK for no reason, bumping my horse badly after which my mount stopped galloping and went out of contention”. The Stewards after having interviewed Jockeys M F Ali Khan, Md Islam and Tr. D M David resolved to over rule the objection and the Judge’s placings remained unaltered. The Stipendiary Stewards fined Jockey Md Islam, the rider of MISTLETOE, a sum of Rs. 2,500/- for careless riding in that approaching the 400 metres when making an attempt to improve his position between CREDIT SWAP (N S Parmar) on the rails and b g AVON CREEK on its outside, he momentarily shifted ‘outwards’ causing AVON CREEK to be checked by its rider when squeezed for room between MISTLETOE and ANNIE HALL who was making progress on its outside. The Veterinary Officer reported that AVON CREEK returned bleeding from both nostrils. Tr. D M David was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Sr. Veterinary Officer.
