MOUNTAIN VIEW (S. John) stumbled soon after jumping out of the starting gates. Jockey Md. Akbar, the rider of HEART OF GOLD, was reprimanded for shifting out and bumping SHADES OF SCARLET (Amyn Merchant) on his outside which in turn passed it on to ROYAL MUSIC (D.K. Ashish) approaching the 1000 Metres. Jockey A. Ashhad Asbar, the rider of AKALIKI, reported that his mount was hanging in, after entering the straight. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported. However Trainer Mr. V. Narayana Gowda (deputizing for trainer Mr. Mohd. A. Abbas) was informed to take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again. I FANCY YOU (K. Chethana) sustained a bleeding cut injury on left hind frog of the hoof.

Trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar and Jockey S. John were questioned regarding the running and riding of STARISTA. The trainer stated that he had instructed the rider (a) to take a good jump and be up there with the leaders and ride out in the straight; (b) in hind sight after the race he felt that the distance was a bit short for his charge; (c) he had specifically instructed the rider not to whip too much as it did not relish the whip much; and (d) under the circumstances he was satisfied with the riding of his charge by Jockey S. John. The Jockey stated that his mount was galloping fluently when ridden in check but when asked for an effort with the whip it puts the ears back and therefore he goaded it and rode with hands and heels in the last 150 Metres. Their explanations were noted. Subsequently it was reported after the race that STARISTA (S. John) burst its blood vessels. Trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. STARISTA (S. John) sustained a cut injury on right knee. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g GRAND SUCCESS.

GOLD TERN (V.R. Jagadeesh) planted at the gates and did not take part in the race. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track. Jockey P.S. Chouhan, the rider of ARROW IN AUTO MODE, was reprimanded for not maintaining a straight course during the final stages of the race.

Shabuddin, the rider of SCIMITAR, was reprimanded for not maintaining a proper course whereby he came in and inconvenienced MIGHTY HEART (Ladjadj Stephan) on his inside which in turn passed it on to BERLUSCONI (B. Prakash) along the rails approaching the 800 Metres. Trainer Mr. V. Narayana Gowda (deputizing for trainer Mr. Mohd. A Abbas) was fined Rs.2,000/- for not informing the change of equipment (Sircingle) in respect of his charge SCIMITAR (F.K. Shabuddin) which resulted in the rider weighing in 700 grams in excess in relation to weighing out. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch g BERLUSCONI.

As Jockey C. Alford could not arrive to fulfill his riding engagement for reason beyond his control, permission was granted to trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar to substitute Jockey Ladjadj Stephan to ride FREE LAW in place of the declared rider. FREE LAW (Ladjadj Stephan) reared up awkwardly in the starting gates dislodging its rider and the rider was certified medically unfit to ride. Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter's orders. Jockey M.
